Promoting Science Based Wildlife Management For A Better Massachusetts
Massachusetts General Laws Part 1, Title XIX, Chapter 131, Section 80A is our State's law on legal trapping of furbearing wildlife. It was significantly changed in 1996, banning some of the most effective, efficient, and argueably humane devices previously available for use during the MA Division of Fisheries and Wildlife regulated trapping season. The Committee for Responsible Wildlife Management was initialy conceived and created by concerned citizens of Massachusetts in 2008, who believe there is an urgent need for people to be reintroduced to the true meaning and the cornerstone of the North American Conservation Model's all inclusive approach. As a group, we believe in the "responsible use and management" of our natural resources for the benefit of both wildlife and society. Not only do we believe this to be appropriate, but essential for the continued, healthy coexistence between modern society and the natural world. The time is now to revisit the current Massachusetts trapping law and make some modest changes using Senate Bill 634. Please join us in the effort.
Promoting Science Based Wildlife Management Decisions for a Better Massachusetts
.... Features ...
Please join us in this effort to bring back some common sense to a unchanged 29 year old Massachusetts trapping law that is not working for all the people in Massachusetts. We are not asking for money. We are asking for you to simply help by writing a few emails or making a few phone calls to your legislators , and going to a public hearing and testifying for 3 minutes. If you could get others to do the same that would be great too. That's it. Let's do this! Thank you in advance for taking action. - Herb Bergquist, MA Committee for Responsible Wildlife Management
